The Postal Department has canceled the leave of all employees to ensure smooth preparations for the upcoming General Election on November 14.

Deputy Postmaster General Rajitha Ranasinghe announced that the cancelation takes effect today and will remain in place until November 14.

Postal workers who need leave for essential reasons must obtain permission from the Deputy Postmaster General in Charge of their respective province.

The cancelation of leave is a key part of the department’s efforts to manage the election-related workload, which includes the handling of postal vote packets. Ranasinghe noted that the acceptance of registered postal vote reserve packets is also scheduled for today.
