A shooting occurred in the early hours today at the Ratmalana railway yard, located within the Moubt Lavania police jurisdiction.
According to police reports, five individuals allegedly entered the railway yard with the intent to steal. During the incident, they assaulted a security officer, leading to a response from a railway security officer who discharged his weapon, injuring one of the suspects.
The injured suspect and the railway security officer have been transported to Kalubowila Hospital for treatment. Meanwhile, the other suspects managed to escape the scene.
Authorities are currently conducting investigations into the incident to apprehend the remaining suspects.
