The Human Rights Commission has announced it will promptly submit its recommendations regarding the leaked questions in the Grade 5 Scholarship Examination. Commissioner Nimal Punchihewa confirmed that the Commission has received a report from the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) on the issue and will forward its findings to the Department of Examinations.

In response, Commissioner General of Examinations Amith Jayasundara stated that the evaluation of answer scripts will be postponed until the recommendations are received. The CID investigation revealed that three questions had been leaked, leading to a decision to award free marks for those questions. Meanwhile, a fundamental rights petition has been filed in the Supreme Court by students and parents, seeking the annulment of the exam paper and a re-examination.
