Postal voting for the Elpitiya Divisional Secretariat is set to begin tomorrow, according to Assistant District Election Commissioner W. H. R. Wijayakumara. State sector employees who are unable to cast their postal votes tomorrow will have a second chance on 18th October.
Nominations for the Elpitiya Pradeshiya Sabha in the 2024 Local Government Elections were accepted between 9th September and 12th September. A total of 10 recognized political parties and 2 independent groups had made deposits for the election. However, only 9 political parties and 2 independent groups submitted their nomination papers on the final day (12th September).
According to Galle District Secretary W. A. Dharmasiri, nomination papers from 8 recognized political parties and one independent group were accepted.
