Nine Provincial Governors have been appointed by President Anura Kumara Dissanayake for each nine provinces.
The governors who have been appointed are as follows:
Western Province - Mr. Hanif Yusoof (Founder of Expo Lanka Group)
Northern Province - Mr. Nagalingam Vethanayahan (Former GA Jaffna)
Sabaragamuva Province - Mrs. Champa Janaki Rajarathna (Retired High Court Judge)
North Western - Mr. Tissa Kumarasiri Warnasuriya (Former secretary Ministry of Agriculture livestock land and irrigation)
Southern Province - Mr. Bandula Harischandra (Former District Secretary)
North Central - Mr. Wasantha Jinadasa (Retired High court Judge)
Central province - Prof. Sarath Abayakoon (former Vice Chancellor, University of Peradeniya)
Eastern Province - Prof. Jayantha Lal Ratnasekera (Former vice chancellor UVA wellassa University)
UVA province - Mr. Kapila jayasekara (Former Ministry Secretary)
The newly appointed governors were sworn in today before the President during a formal ceremony held at the Presidential Secretariat in Colombo.
