Special transport services are available for the people who will be leaving for their hometowns to cast their ballot.
Additional bus services will be operative centering the Central Bus Stand at Bastian Mawatha in Colombo and the Southern Expressway.
Additional bus services will operate up to Colombo from other areas.
Ceylon Transport Board (CTB) is also set to operate a special long distance bus service for the convenience of those who are returning to their hometowns to vote.
Any issue with respect to transport during this period can be intimated to contact number 1955. It will be operative round the clock. No extra charge should be made for the special bus services that will be operative for the elections.
The Department of Railways has also implemented special train services between Colombo Fort and Kankasanturaya to support election duties.
