Japan Typhoon: "The centre of Typhoon No. 10 made landfall near Satsumasendai City, Kagoshima Prefecture, around 8:00 am (2300 GMT Wednesday), the Japan Meteorological Office said.

A major typhoon made landfall on Japan's main southern island of Kyushu on Thursday morning, the weather office said.
