There is a risk of heavy flooding in the Millaniya area of ​​the Kalu Ganga and the water levels of the Kelani, Ging and Nilwala rivers have risen rapidly

.DMC said  that  more than 27000 people affected by the bad weather.

The Department of Meteorology states that heavy rains exceeding 75 mm may occur in Western, Sabaragamuwa provinces and Galle Matara districts.

Kegalle has recorded the highest rainfall in the last 24 hours and it is 148.5 mm.

Due to the bad weather, 27,858 people belonging to 8,779 families are in distress.

Water level of the Kalu Ganga, has raised the risk of a major flood in the Millaniya area.

 Many lowlands around the kalu ganga are under water. The Irrigation Department announced that the warnings issued for the small river sub-basin of Kalugaga have been extended for the next 24 hours. People asked to be vigilant  regarding the risk of flooding.

With the opening of a sluice gate in the Kukule river reservoir, a water capacity of 53 cubic meters per second is released into the small river. As a result, many roads including the Bulathsinghala Molkawa main road are under water.

Due to the current flood risk, a Navy flood disaster relief team has been sent to the Kalutara Paragoda area. Relief groups are working to provide relief to the people who have been affected by the flood situation and to save the people trapped by the flood.

 There is also a risk of flooding in Baddegama and Thavalama areas of Ging Gage and the daily life of the people has been hampered by the inundation of low-lying areas and roads.

Attanagalu Oya has also overflowed in several places. Attanagalu Oya and Di Elle Oya seat Veyangoda, Tihariya, Varana are under water

Traffic was disrupted due to the flooding of Hamilton Canal and Kadupiti Oya flowing from Madampe and Mahawewa areas, flooding the main road of Colombo - Chillaw at several places.

The Building Research Organization stated that the landslide warnings issued in several areas are still in force.
