Accordingly, the National Building Research Organization has taken steps to further extend the landslide warning imposed on the districts of Galle, Matara, Kalutara, Kegalle, Ratnapura, Nuwara Eliya and Colombo

 .

Level 1 (Yellow) warning was issued for the following areas:

  • Kalutara –Walallawita and Palindanuwara DSDs and surrounding areas
  • Kegalle- Dehiowita, Deraniyagala, Warakapola, Yatiyanthota, Kegalle DSDs and surrounding areas
  • Matara –Athuraliya DSD and surrounding areas
  • Ratnapura- Pelmadulla, Nivithigala DSDs and surrounding areas

 Level 2 (Amber) warning has been issued for several areas in the Galle, Kalutara, Matara and Ratnapura districts as follows:

  • Galle – Elpitiya, Neluwa, Yakkalamulla and Nagoda Divisional Secretariat Divisions (DSD) and surrounding areas
  • Kalutara – Ingirya, Horana, Bulathsinhala and Mathugama DSDs and surrounding areas
  • Matara –Pitabeddara DSD and surrounding areas
  • Ratnapura- Kuruwita, Ratnapura, Elapatha, Eheliyagoda and Kalawana DSDs and surrounding areas
