20 Sri Lankans who were held in a cyber slave camp in Myanmar have been freed.
The Sri Lankan Embassy in Myanmar said that the rescued individuals were transported to Thailand.
The Embassy confirmed that all the rescued Sri Lankans are safe.
These youths were forced to engage in various cyber crimes.They were in a remote jungle outpost, 25 kilometers from Myaweddi city in Myanmar, sits under the complete control of a terrorist group.
Young Sri Lankans, lured by promises of IT jobs in Thailand, were transported with tourist visas and allegedly sold for $5,000 each to become cyber slaves.
The released youths will be sent back to Sri Lanka after clearance.
