The ceremony commenced with the lighting of the traditional oil lamp, followed by a tribute to fallen War Heroes by laying of floral wreaths at the War Heroes monument and a two-minute silence in their honour.

Afterwards, Major General S.W.M Fernando WWV RWP RSP VSV USP ndc psc, Colonel Commandant of SLAC delivered the welcome speech and the audience was enlightened on the history and achievements of the SLAC by displaying a comprehensive video. Following the Regimental March, the Chief Guest addressed the gathering, emphasizing the legacy of the late Lieutenant General Kobbekaduwa and his invaluable contributions to the Nation.
