Former President Maithripala Sirisena announced that the Sri Lanka Freedom Party (SLFP) has chosen its candidate for the forthcoming Presidential Election.
Sirisena made this statement in response to journalists' questions following an event in Colombo on July 16.
The former President asserted that the Presidential Election must proceed as scheduled, warning against any attempts to delay it.
He cautioned that postponing the election could result in unrest and potential bloodshed in the country.
