The Kandy-Matale road (A9) has been temporarily closed at Akurana this morning due to a major fire that broke out in the Milano Hotel at Akurana and has spread to several adjacent shops, according to the assistant director, Mr. Bandara DMC Kandy.
He told Ziradaily that the fire had spread to near four buildings. Firefighters from the Kandy Municipal Council are battling the blaze.
