Attorneys representing Viranjith Thambugala, Chairman of Aura Lanka, informed the Colombo Magistrate’s Court today (03) that he and his family have received death threats following his statement to the Criminal Investigations Department (CID) regarding financial fraud allegations.
During the hearing before Colombo Additional Magistrate Pavitra Pathiraja, the defence counsel requested the court to issue an order addressing the threats.
After considering the facts, the Additional Magistrate announced that a decision will be made on August 10.
