France has reportedly granted political asylum to Kanjipani Imran, a notorious organized crime figure who is also on Interpol's red notice list.
Initially based in Dubai where he conducted criminal activities, Imran was arrested and returned to Sri Lanka in 2019 while out on bail.
Subsequently, he fled the country again, traveling through Mannar to India before ultimately seeking asylum in France.
