The Meteorological Department has issued a red warning for strong winds and rough seas for the next 24 hours.
The Department of Meteorology states that the announcement was issued for the multi-day fishing and marine community operating in the Arabian Sea area.(Area borded by 06N -20N and 5SE - 68E).Naval and fishing communities are advised not to venture into the above sea areas.

The Met department says that very strong winds (70-80 kmph) are likely to prevail in the Arabian Sea region due to the active Southwest Monsoon.
Naval and fishing communities are also requested to be attentive to future forecasts.
