Local authorities will incinerate 1,208 kilograms of narcotics at a high-powered incinerator in Wanathavilluwa, Puttalam, today.
This follows a directive from the Aluthkade Magistrates Court to dispose of 614 kilograms of ice, 581 kilograms of ketamine, and 13 kilograms of heroin.
The process will start with transporting the drugs from the Aluthkade Magistrates Court to the incinerator site, which is situated on 20 perches of land in the Lactose Garden area of Wanathavilluwa. The incinerator was installed under the supervision of the Special Task Force (STF), with site preparation by the Sri Lanka Navy and a budget of Rs. 6.34 million allocated by the Sri Lanka Police for infrastructure and security measures.
