The Criminal Investigation Department (CID) has arrested at least 30 Chinese nationals staying at a hotel in Negombo, Police Media Spokesman DIG Nihal Thalduwa confirmed.
He said the arrested were charged of online financial fraud.
In a separate operation, the CID arrested 137 Indian nationals across multiple locations in connection with a large-scale online financial scam.
Authorities seized 158 mobile phones, 16 laptops, and 60 desktop computers from the suspects.
