The Cabinet announced its approval of a significant initiative aimed at modernizing Piriven education through the integration of digital technology.

Minister Bandula Gunawardane, speaking as the Cabinet spokesman, disclosed that the decision follows the approval of a Cabinet Paper presented by Education Minister Susil Premajayantha. This initiative is designed to empower private education by introducing digital tools and resources across all 825 Piriven institutions nationwide.

Minister Gunawardane highlighted that over 100,000 students, comprising both lay and clergy, are currently enrolled in Pirivenas throughout the country. The approved plan includes equipping each Pirivena with smart classrooms featuring essential digital infrastructure such as computers, smart boards, and printers.
