The police are seeking public assistance to arrest a suspect wanted for defrauding people of Rs. 17.5 million by promising job opportunities in foreign countries such as England and Poland.
Police stated that individuals were defrauded under the guise of a company called IMH LOGISTICS (PVT) LTD, which operated from Janajaya City Hall in Sri Jayawardenapura, Kotte.
The Mirihana Special Criminal Investigation Division has launched investigations into the fraud, resulting in the arrest of a female suspect who was presented before the Chief Magistrate's Court in Colombo.
During the suspect's interrogation, it was revealed that a person named Fernando, posing as the company owner, was involved in the fraudulent scheme. However, no address or other identity of the suspect has been disclosed thus far.
