A 31-year-old Ugandan national was arrested by officers from the Police Anti-Narcotics Bureau at Katunayake Bandaranaike International Airport for possession of cocaine.
The suspect arrived in the country from Qatar, having swallowed the cocaine pills for concealment.
After being admitted to Negombo Hospital, 14 cocaine pills were recovered from the suspect.
The Police Narcotics Bureau is investigating the incident.
