The Disaster Management Center (DMC) reports that ongoing adverse weather conditions have damaged 5,587 houses across various parts of Sri Lanka. Of these, 56 houses have suffered severe damage, while 5,531 have been partially damaged.
The extreme weather has also resulted in 32 fatalities, with one person still missing. Additionally, 16 individuals have sustained injuries.
The DMC has moved 7,639 displaced persons to 1,973 relief centers established across the island. In total, 239,006 individuals from 63,413 families have been affected by the severe weather conditions.
