Sri Lankan athlete Tharushi Karunarathna emerged victorious at the Taiwan Athletics Open 2024
The event, held at the prestigious Taipei Stadium in Taiwan, witnessed Karunarathna's exceptional performance as she clinched gold in both the Women’s 400 meters and 800 meters events.
In the Women’s 800 meters final held on Sunday (02), Karunarathna exhibited a stellar display of skill and determination, securing the top position with an impressive timing of 2 minutes and 5.74 seconds.
Not content with just one gold medal, Karunarathna showcased her versatility by dominating the Women’s 400 meters event as well. On Saturday (01), she blazed through the track, crossing the finish line in an astonishing 52.48 seconds, claiming yet another gold medal for Sri Lanka.
