In an exciting warm-up game ahead of the ICC T20 World Cup, the Netherlands secured a victory against Sri Lanka by 20 runs in Florida. 

Batting first, the Netherlands set a challenging target of 181/5 in their allotted 20 overs, thanks to strong performances from their top-order batsmen.

Sri Lanka, in response, struggled to maintain the required run rate and were bowled out for 160 in the 19th over. The Sri Lankan top order faltered significantly, losing four wickets for just 30 runs during the power play. 

Wanindu Hasaranga was the standout performer for Sri Lanka, delivering a rapid 43 off just 15 balls, including a spectacular display of power-hitting with five consecutive sixes. Dasun Shanaka contributed a solid 35 not out, while Dhananjaya de Silva added 31 runs to the total.

In the bowling department, Sri Lanka had rested key players Wanindu Hasaranga, Maheesh Theekshana, Matheesha Pathirana, and Dushmantha Chameera, possibly as a strategic move with an eye on their upcoming group stage match against the Netherlands. 

The absence of these frontline bowlers was evident as Nuwan Thushara and Dilshan Madushanka struggled to contain the Dutch batsmen. However, Dunith Wellalage stood out with an economical spell, conceding just 26 runs and taking one wicket in his four overs.

The match provided both teams with valuable insights and an opportunity to fine-tune their strategies ahead of the main tournament. The Netherlands will take confidence from this victory, while Sri Lanka will aim to bounce back and refine their game plan for the crucial matches ahead.
