The Bribery Commission arrested a school principal in the Eheliyagoda area for soliciting a bribe of Rs.30,000 from a woman to ensure her uninterrupted tender to supply food for the school canteen.
The Bribery Commission officers caught the principal in his office. It was revealed that he had initially demanded Rs.50,000 to recommend the release of payment for the woman's food supply for March and April, securing Rs.20,000 of this bribe initially.
The woman reported the principal when he asked for an additional Rs.30,000, leading to his arrest.
