Adverse weather conditions have impacted 10,299 people from 3,518 families across Sri Lanka, with two individuals reported injured, according to Thusitha Waidyarathne, Deputy Director of the Disaster Management Centre.
The two injuries occurred in the East Nuwaragampalatha division of the Anuradhapura district, caused by heavy rains and fallen trees.
Furthermore, three houses in the Ratnapura district were partially damaged due to fallen trees and high winds. The affected areas include Nivithigala, Godakawela, and Balangoda.
In contrast, a severe drought has impacted 8,000 people in Jaffna, 1,334 in Trincomalee, and 946 in Killinochchi, Waidyarathne reported.
