All-Ceylon Prison Officers’ Union has decided to engage in trade union action by taking 'sick leave' from today (20th) until May 22nd, demanding a wage increase of Rs. 25,000.
Meanwhile, the trade union action initiated by university non-academic staff continues. The General Secretary of the Peradeniya University Trade Union Federation, T. A. D. Suranjeeva, stated that the entire university system has been affected as a result.
