A 42-year-old man has been arrested for the triple murder in Gampaha, where three family members were killed in Maladeniya, Nalla, early this morning.
The victims were identified as a 42-year-old man, his 80-year-old father, and 77-year-old mother.
Nalla Police Station officers stopped and checked a suspicious person on a bicycle, noting blood stains on his shirt and finding Rs. 255,620 in cash, a gold necklace, 02 gold rings, and a knife in his bag.
Further investigation revealed a political party membership card from 2002, leading to the discovery of the victims' bodies at the address on the card.
The suspect, a resident of Bangadeniya in Chilaw, was taken into custody.
