Marking the 15th Victory Day anniversary, 3146 sailors have been promoted to higher ranks by Commander of the Navy, Vice Admiral Priyantha Perera, with the approval of His Excellency the President and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces.

Sri Lanka's security forces, including the armed forces, police, and Civil Security Department, played a crucial role in defeating nearly three decades of terrorism. Their unwavering dedication, including the sacrifices of those who gave their lives in service, were pivotal in a successful humanitarian operation that restored the country's sovereignty and territorial integrity.

In a ceremonial tribute, the Navy commemorated the 15th Victory Day anniversary by promoting 3146 senior and junior sailors across various naval ranks within both regular and volunteer forces, based on the recommendation of the Commander of the Navy.
