IndSri Ferry Service Pvt. Ltd. has announced a further delay in the commencement of passenger ferry services between Kankesanthurai in Sri Lanka and Nagapattinam in India.

Originally scheduled to begin operations on May 13, the company cited the delay in ferry delivery and unavoidable compliance requirements as the reasons for the setback.

Managing Director S. Niranjan Nandagopan informed the Daily Mirror that the service will not commence as planned on May 13 but will instead begin on May 17. The passenger vessel named 'Sivagangai' is now set to resume ferry services on the revised date.

Assurances have been received from authorities regarding the issuance of all legal compliance requirement certificates in time for the service to start on May 17.

Passengers who had booked journeys from May 13 to 16 will be rescheduled for May 17. Alternatively, they have the option to travel on any date after May 17, 2024.

Customers requiring ticket cancellations are advised to email [email protected], with the company assuring a full refund will be arranged promptly.
