Amidst concerns over potential disruptions in fuel availability during the upcoming holidays, Power and Energy Minister Kanchana Wijesekera has issued a reassuring statement.
In a message shared on social media, reminiscent of Twitter, Minister Wijesekera affirmed that there will be no interruptions in fuel supply.
The Minister disclosed that the Ministry has meticulously strategized to ensure a consistent and adequate supply of fuel throughout the holiday period and beyond. According to him, plans are in place to import sufficient fuel cargos to cover the nation's needs for the next 12 months, thereby mitigating any potential shortages or supply chain disruptions.
Furthermore, Minister Wijesekera disclosed initiatives to bolster the fuel infrastructure in the country. He revealed that several advertisements have been published with the aim of establishing new fuel stations, a move anticipated to enhance accessibility and distribution efficiency.
