Sri Lanka has embarked on arrangements for its inaugural export of diverse seed varieties, marking a pivotal moment for the agricultural sector's growth trajectory.

Accordingly, the Department of Agriculture has officially announced the successful culmination of testing procedures for an array of seeds, encompassing chillies, eggplant, green chillies, ladies' fingers, and maize, poised for imminent exportation.

Collaborative efforts between the Department of Agriculture and the private sector, bolstered by the expertise of agricultural specialists, have been instrumental in the research and development of these new seed varieties. 

Furthermore, reports indicate a notable uptick in demand for these seed assortments from numerous foreign markets.
