Three police officers, including a police inspector from Narahenpita Police Station, a sub-inspector from Theldeniya Police Station, and a police constable from Homagama Police Station, have reportedly sought employment abroad while still serving in the police force.
Senior Superintendents of Police overseeing Nugegoda and Colombo South Division have initiated actions to compel these officers to resign from their positions.
This incident highlights a recurring issue where many police officers have left the country while still in service. Of particular note was the disappearance of several officers from the Police Sports Division who had attended a conference organized by the International Police Association.
