A contingent of 20 Sri Lankan police officers is embarking on a specialized training program focused on cyber crime investigation and artificial intelligence (AI) at the Central Detective Training Institute (CTDI) in Hyderabad, India.

Led by a Senior Superintendent of Police, along with 2 Assistant Superintendents of Police and 17 Inspectors of Police, the group departed for India.

The training is scheduled to conclude on Saturday, the 16th, with the team expected to return to the island thereafter. 

This initiative, under the guidance of Minister of Public Security, Tiran Alas, and Inspector General of Police, Deshabandu Thennakoon, aims to equip the officers with advanced skills to tackle cyber threats effectively.
