A high-level delegation comprising representatives from leading renewable energy companies associated with the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) convened at the Ministry of Power & Energy in Sri Lanka this morning.
The delegation's visit, organized by the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy of the Government of India in collaboration with CII, spans three days and aims to fortify bilateral cooperation between India and Sri Lanka in the realm of renewable energy.
Dubbed "Energizing India-Sri Lanka Ties through Cooperation in Renewable Energy," the visit focuses on fostering strategic partnerships and exploring avenues for joint initiatives in the renewable energy sector.
During the meeting, discussions revolved around Sri Lanka's renewable energy policies, ongoing projects, electricity sector reforms, investment opportunities, legal framework, off-shore wind development, green hydrogen roadmap, and interconnectivity. The exchange provided an invaluable platform for sharing insights, experiences, and best practices in renewable energy deployment and sustainability.
The delegation comprised senior executives and officials from prominent Indian renewable energy firms, including ACME, ReNew, Adani Green Energy, PTC India, Jackson Group, Welspun New Energy, Sterlite Power, Nucleus Consulting & Gamification, Shakthi Pumps Limited, and Suzlon Group. Additionally, representatives from CII and the Indian High Commission in Sri Lanka actively participated in the discussions.
The collaborative efforts between India and Sri Lanka underscore a shared commitment to advancing renewable energy agendas and addressing the challenges posed by climate change. By leveraging expertise, technology, and resources, both nations aim to accelerate the transition towards a greener and more sustainable energy landscape.
