Anuradhapura District Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna (SLPP) Member of Parliament (MP) Uddika Premaratne has tendered his resignation from his parliamentary seat.
Speaker Mahinda Yapa Abeywardane confirmed Premaratne's resignation to the Daily Mirror upon inquiry, acknowledging that he had submitted his letter of resignation.
Premaratne, who secured victory in the 2020 parliamentary election representing Anuradhapura District, garnered an impressive 133,550 votes to secure his seat in parliament.
