Member of Parliament Kavinda Jayawardene announced today that the Samagi Jana Balawegaya (SJB) intends to table another No Confidence motion against Minister Keheliya Rambukwella, citing alleged involvement in the Human Immunoglobulin scandal.
Jayawardene revealed that the decision to pursue a second motion against Minister Rambukwella was made several weeks ago by the party. However, due to Parliament's prorogation, the collection of signatures was postponed. The process is set to commence on February 7, coinciding with the reconvening of the House.
"We will publish the signatures we receive for the motion this time so that the public will know who will go against corruption," Jayawardene emphasized, underlining the party's commitment to transparency and accountability.
The MP further asserted that mounting evidence presented before the judiciary points to the Minister's alleged involvement in the Human Immunoglobulin scandal, suggesting a deeper entanglement in corrupt practices.
The impending No Confidence motion underscores the ongoing political tensions and the opposition's resolve to hold government officials accountable for alleged wrongdoing.
