In a targeted operation aimed at disrupting drug trafficking networks, Police have conducted raids on Easy Cash and M-Cash centers nationwide. 

The operation, carried out with the support of intelligence officers, resulted in the arrest of 316 individuals.

Acting on information suggesting the exploitation of Easy Cash and M-Cash platforms by drug traffickers, the operation was initiated under the direction of Acting IGP Deshabandu Tennakoon. 

The operation encompassed a comprehensive sweep of 1,964 Easy Cash and M-Cash centers, 2,131 authorized personal communication centers, 1,074 locations hosting reload and bill payment mobile machines, and 1,202 commercial bank branches.

Of the 316 individuals detained on suspicion, Police have identified 20 suspects allegedly involved in drug trafficking and 11 individuals linked to other criminal activities.
