Officers from the Women's and Children's Bureau arrested three Parliament employees on suspicion of abusing a female staff member.
Serjeant-at-Arms Narendra Fernando said that following the arrest, they have interdicted these staff members as they were found guilty during an inquiry.
He said that unlike in the case of an MP, there is no requirement for the police to seek the approval of the Speaker before arresting a staff member.
