The Transport Ministry of Sri Lanka issued a gazette notification outlining amendments to transport charges for parcels, goods, livestock, and other items via train.
These changes, set to take effect from February 1, mark a notable shift in the railway transportation sector.
The amendments, made under the purview of the Railways Ordinance (Chapter 200), received the concurrence of Finance Minister Bandula Gunawardana, signifying a coordinated effort within the government to address transportation policies and practices.
