The government has earmarked Rs.1,000 million for the year 2024 dedicated to the reconstruction of small-scale tanks, culverts, and embankments across the country.
The allocation has been channeled through the Agrarian Development Department, aiming to revamp 17,000 small-scale irrigation systems.
This commitment follows last year's allocation of Rs.1,000 million in 2023, which kickstarted the extensive renovation efforts. Notably, under the careful supervision of the Agrarian Development Department, construction on approximately 1,100 tanks has already been successfully completed.
