Police Constable J.A.A. Jayakodi, the security officer of the late State Minister Sanath Nishantha, who tragically lost his life in an accident on the Katunayake Expressway, has been posthumously promoted to the rank of Police Sergeant by the Inspector General of Police (IGP) with effect from January 25.
Constable Jayakodi, serving in the Ministerial Security Division (MSD), died in the early morning accident on Wednesday along with State Minister Sanath Nishantha.
