The Kattankudi Police arrested two suspects exposing a significant cache of the illegal drug ICE and a shocking narrative of organ trafficking driven by addiction.

Led by OIC G. Gajanayake, the raid resulted in the capture of a 32-year-old man found with nearly 3 grams of ICE. During interrogation, the suspect unveiled a chilling truth: he allegedly sold one of his own kidneys to finance his drug habit.

Adding another layer to this disturbing incident, the police arrested another individual at the scene, discovered in possession of over 2.4 litres of ICE—a substantial quantity suggestive of potential large-scale distribution.

Both suspects were presented before Batticaloa Magistrate M.H.M. Hamza and remanded until February 6th.
