In the 12th match of the ICC Under-19 World Cup at Diamond Oval in Kimberley, Sri Lanka secured a commanding 77-run victory over Namibia, showcasing a blend of robust batting and incisive bowling.

Sri Lanka, after being put into bat, found themselves in a precarious situation due to the penetrative bowling of Zacheo Van Vuuren and Johannes De Villiers, who claimed four and three wickets respectively.

However, Supun Waduge's resilient unbeaten 56 was the cornerstone of the Sri Lankan innings. Contributions from Rusanda Gamage and Sharujan Shanmuganathan, adding 17 and 13 runs respectively, were also pivotal. Despite these efforts, Sri Lanka was contained to a modest total of 133, a score reflective of the disciplined Namibian bowling attack.

The chase for Namibia, set a target of 134, was marred by a lack of stability in their batting lineup. Sri Lankan bowlers Vishwa Lahiru and Ruvishan Perera orchestrated the collapse of the Namibian batting order.

Both bowlers shared the spoils, claiming three wickets each, and effectively strangling the opposition at a mere 56 runs. Peter Blignaut's unbeaten 18 for Namibia was a solitary effort in an otherwise underwhelming batting performance.

As a result,  Sri Lanka defeated Namibia by margin of 77 runs in a low-scoring affair. With this win, they fancied their chances to qualify for super six.
