Buddhist monk shot dead at temple in Gampaha

A Buddhist monk at a temple Malwathu Hiripitiya in Gampaha has been shot dead with a T-56 weapon this morning.

Police said four unknown persons in a car had reportedly opened fire at the monk and fled. The monk died after being admitted to the hospital.
