In the aftermath of the tragic incident in Belliatta this morning, where five individuals, including a political party leader, lost their lives, Samagi Jana Balawegaya (SJB) MP Sujith Sanjaya Perera has raised concerns over the authenticity of the 'Yukthiya operation.'
Perera asserted that the recent events have exposed the operation as nothing more than a staged drama.
Casting doubt on the necessity of a large-scale operation, the MP pointed out that if Acting IGP Deshabandu Tennekoon had effectively carried out his duties during his tenure in the police force, such a comprehensive operation might not have been required.
