Three minor hospital staff members, including a female have been arrested by the Galle Police over alleged assault on Krishantha Perera, the Onco Surgeon at the Karapitiya Teaching Hospital.
Police said the arrest was made during the investigation carried out on the basis of a complaint made by the concerned specialist doctor to the Galle Police on January 17.
Accordingly, a 52-year-old female health assistant and two 45-year-old and 43-year-old assistants have been arrested.
The Onco Surgeon who was alleged to have assaulted a female hospital staffer during a contentious situation that erupted at the hospital premises on last Wednesday was arrested and remanded until 22 January by the Galle Magistrate’s Court.
