The Committee on High Posts has given the green light to five new appointments, including the assignment of a High Commissioner, announced the Communication Department of Parliament on Wednesday (Jan. 17).
The approved appointments are as follows:
Mr. P.R.S. Goonawardena – High Commissioner of Sri Lanka to the Republic of Maldives
Dr. M.M. S.S.B. Yalegama – Non-Cabinet Ministry of State Plantation Enterprise Reforms
Mr. S.C.J Devendra – Chairman of the Sri Lanka Export Credit Insurance Corporation
Prof. M.A.R.M. Fernando – Chairman of Public Utilities Commission of Sri Lanka (PUCSL)
Mr. J. M. Soosaithasan – Chairman of State Mortgage and Investment Bank
The Committee on High Posts convened in Parliament last week, chaired by Speaker Mahinda Yapa Abeywardena. The meeting saw the participation of Ministers Nimal Siripala de Silva and Keheliya Rambukwella, along with Members of Parliament Johnston Fernando, Anura Priyadarshana Yapa, Thalatha Athukorala, Udaya Gammanpila, Dr. Sudarshini Fernandopulle, and Dharmalingam Siddharthan.
