The Meteorology Department has issued a warning for over 100mm of rainfall in the Northern, Eastern, Uva, Central, Southern, and North Central provinces.
According to the department, continuous rainy conditions are anticipated today, with cloudy skies forecasted across most parts of the island.
Residents in other regions are advised to expect morning showers, with an increased likelihood of showers or thundershowers after 1:00 p.m.
The public is urged to take necessary precautions against potential damages caused by temporary localized strong winds and lightning during thundershowers.
