In response to severe flooding, the primary gateway to Yala National Park, the Tissamaharama - Palatupana main entrance, has been temporarily closed until further notice, as confirmed by a park warden.
Despite this closure, tourists are reassured that access to the renowned wildlife sanctuary remains available through the Katagamuwa entrance. Notably, entry to Zones 4, 5, and 6 is unaffected, although Zone 1 is currently inaccessible.
The park management assures visitors that measures are being taken to address the situation, with updates on the reopening of the main entrance to follow.
